Private SMTP and Microsoft 365 orders now show you the mailbox names before checkout. Add teammates, split the mailboxes between them, and choose which address styles you want.
Your mailboxes are still named after your sender name unless you say otherwise, so ordering takes no extra steps. If you want something different, click Change next to Mailbox names on the review step. That opens Confirm your mailbox names, which lists the addresses we're going to create, so you see them before you pay instead of after.
It starts with one person, your sender name, holding every mailbox. From there you can:
- Add more people (up to 20), each with a first name, a last name and how many mailboxes they get.
- Choose address styles. There are four: jane@, jane.doe@, janedoe@ and jane.d@. Untick the ones you don't want, for example if you'd rather have no dots.
- Check the preview, which shows the real addresses on your domains and updates as you type.
What you confirm is what we build. Until now, other people's names went into Special Instructions and someone on our team had to read them, and a few of those orders sat waiting longer than they should have.
Microsoft 365 orders get the people list without the address styles, because Microsoft picks the exact addresses. Google Workspace orders haven't changed: put any naming requests in Special Instructions like before.
Already placed your order and want different names? That's still a name change request: how to request one.
Ordering through the API? POST /instant-orders now takes mailbox_people and mailbox_formats, and POST /mailboxes/preview returns the exact list before anything is charged. Both are on the API page.
